After a 12-year hiatus, Hardkandy are back with the first single to be taken from their forthcoming fourth studio album, Pure Fantasy. Crafted over two years, the album has been something of a labour of love for the main writer and producer, Tim Bidwell, based on the underlying concept: what would I have done back then, if I’d known what I know now?

The lead single, Stronger Stuff, features the distinctive vocals of Andy Platts (Mamas Gun, Young Gun Silver Fox) who as usual delivers a heart wrenching vocal performance with a classic soul feel. It’s a life affirming love song about the security and stability that can be gained from having a strong romantic bond with someone. Refreshingly optimistic subject matter for a ballad!
